2014 London Roll and Bowl...

I will be bowling on March 24, 2014 to support  SCI Ontario (Spinal Cord Injury Ontario - formerly known as Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario).  SCI Ontario provides support to people who have sustained spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities.  In my line of work, I meet a lot of people who need this support and I get to see a lot of the physical gains made.  It's very rewarding.  Help is always needed though.

According to the SCI Ontario website:  "The life expectancy of someone after injury has increased to between 85% and 90%. Approximately one person a day sustains a spinal cord injury in Ontario - 11 a week. There are 33,000 Ontarians living with spinal cord injuries."

Which reminds me of a sign I saw in a Toys R Us bathroom last week:

"One day it may be you."
It gives me comfort to know that if anything should ever happen to me or a loved one, there are organizations like SCI Ontario to help with the transition.

I am stepping out of my comfort zone, into some funky bowling shoes to help support those who currently have spinal cord injuries and all the success stories to come.

If you can, please sponsor me in the 2014 Roll and Bowl.   I may not be the best bowler, but I think I can do a little better than these people (...maybe):

I know it's a pain in the butt to put all your information out there to donate to some stranger on the internet in the cause of the week...so maybe I can sweeten the deal a bit....

Donate $5: I will draw you a picture.  Yes a legitimate paper and whatever pieces of pencil crayon I can find kicking around my house.  I will put it on my Instagram for the whole world to see and if you really want to laugh I could even mail it to you...although I would have to cram it into one of those businessy envelopes so it would probably get all creasy...either way...yay art!

Donate $10: I will let you have a 125x125 block of space on the side of this very blog for 3 whole months.  This banner can also be a link to your website so think of it like cheap advertising while getting to help people out. It can be animated so you can fit all your special details on there (or a picture of a cat...people like cats). The only thing is you have to make it yourself because I'm not good at that kind of stuff.

Every dollar counts, so every donor will receive a special thank you on my Twitter page (probably with an emoji smiley poop because he's my favourite).

After you donate, send me an email to evilflu @ gmail . com (no spaces) and I will hook you up with your prize!

Thank you for your support and encouragement!
